THE EMPOWERING YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM AT GOYR WILL HELP YOU GAIN A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST AND IGNITE GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOU BY EXPLORING YOUR STRENGTHS AND TALENTS AS YOU UNLEASH YOUR NATURAL LEADERSHIP ABILITIES.

THIS PROGRAM WILL FOCUS ON FOLLOWING AREAS WHILE LEADING OTHERS BY DEVELOPING THESE PRACTICAL SKILLS:
  • Ranch Management
  • Animal Care
  • Preparing Horses for Ministry
  • Basic Horseback Riding skills in Arena
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Project Management
  • Attention to detail
  • Working as a team
  • Public Speaking
  • Mentorship
  • Building Projects
  • Event Planning
  • Serving Others

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:

Empowering Youth Leadership Program provides on-site training and hands-on experience managing a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Christian Youth Ranch.

Our hope is for our youth to grow in their personal relationship with Jesus and share God’s love with others through service.

4TH THROUGH 8TH GRADERS

4th-8th Graders will be a part of a team who provides care for our animals, grows in their relationship with Jesus, and serves our community during GOYR Events . This team will meet May through September, twice a month on Saturday mornings, from 9:30- 11am.

Leadership Commitment: Participants on this team are asked to participate at least one Saturday morning a month and serve at least (3) times during the Summer at our Family Fun Night Events or GOYR Events. Family Fun Nights are on the first Friday of every month, June through September, from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.

8TH-12TH GRADERS

8th-12th Graders will be an integral part of GOYR’S operations, ministry and mentorship as they grow in training, leadership and service.

Leadership Commitment: Participants are asked to attend at least 3 out of 4 trainings sessions on Saturday mornings during the month of April. Training sessions will be from 9:30-11 am (except for the Saturday on Easter weekend).
Volunteer at 6 serving opportunities throughout the summer. Volunteer options include:
GOYR Garden Project- The first two Saturday mornings in May.
Empowering Youth Community Event in June.
Family Fun Night Events (June through September) on the first Friday of every month from 6- 8 pm.
Annual Chili Cook-Off Event in October.


All participants who complete their group training and serving requirements will be recognized at our Certificate and Ceremony Celebration in September. Participants will also receive a Certificate of Completion and Recommendation Letter for their service highlighting the skills they learned during the summer.
